Money The rupee (MUR) is the currency of Mauritius. Mid-september 2011, 1 US Dollar= 28.20 MUR, 1 Euro = 38.90 MUR, and 1 GBP = 44.52 MUR. Several international banks have offices in Mauritius:  HSBC, Barclays Bank, Indian Ocean International Bank Ltd (State Bank of India), Deutsch Bank... Banking Hours: Monday to Friday: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm.  Closed on Saturday, Sunday & Public Holidays Banks are also open to coincide with the arrival and departure of international flights at the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport.
