However, most offices propose non stop services from 9.30 am to 5/6 pm. Shops usually close at lunch time, except for big stores which are open Monday through Saturday from 9.30 am to 7 pm.

Bargaining at the market
Bargaining is a tradition in Madagascar, it is always practised at the market, with street
vendors, and for rickshaw or taxi fares. It is necessary to reach an agreement with the
driver concerning the fare before taking a taxi. Bargaining should always go with smiling.
Driving licence
It is necessary to have an international driving licence.
Photos and Videos
Amateurs and professionals will find basic materials (cameras, films, …) in most photo laboratories and specialized shops in major cities.
Professionals must previously obtain permission from ANGAP before taking photos and
videos in protected areas and an authorization from TIA SARY before making films in the country.

- Hikers must have good walking shoes, mosquito repellent sprays and/or creams
