July 2016: Uganda - Change of visa fees.

As from July 22, 2016, Uganda has halved the fee of the entry visa from $ 100 to $ 50. The charge was doubled one year ago. Other visa fees (multiple entry or transit) remain unchanged: from $ 100 à $ 200 depending on the case. A single East Africa visa that is valid for Uganda, Rwanda, and Kenya for a period of 3 months is available to tourists at a price of $ 100. Instead of the visa to Uganda only, it cannot be extended or be used by businessmen.

On the other hand, as from August 1st, 2016, foreign tourists must have obtained the required document (visa from the embassy or Uganda's agreement by way of the new electronic E-visa system) before landing in Uganda. More than 1.2 million tourists visited Uganda in 2015.

June 2016: Uganda - Launch of the E-Visa.

As from July 2016, an E-Visa system will be available for visitors to Uganda. The electronic visa application system makes easier for tourists to obtain visa, particularly when they are located in countries where there is no embassy of Uganda. The system works also for work permits.
