Macau (China) > General information > Tourist information

The Macau Tourist Office website (see below) is a good starting place for pretrip research. If you want information on Macau while you’re still in Hong Kong, try the Macau Tourist Offices at Chek Lap Kok Airport or at the Macau Ferry Terminal in the Shun Tak Center.

The main tourist offices in the Largo do Senado (daily 9 am-6 pm) and on the 12th floor of Alameda Dr. Carlos D’Assumpcao (Mon-Fri 9 am-1 pm & 2:30-5:45 pm) have helpful staff, maps and leaflets covering the bulk of Macau’s attractions. There are also tourist offices at the airport, ferry terminal and Gongbei border crossing and small kiosks at the Guia fortress or just inside the Basilica of Sao Paulo façade.

Dotted around the peninsula there are also computerized information points (“City Guide Kiosks”) with details on the main sights and hotmail access (for a charge). In the future you should also be able to download the city guide onto a pocket PC or smartphone from the kiosks.  There is a tourist hotline which operates between 8 am and 7 pm and provides recorded information around the clock.

Macau Talk, a monthly publication, offers listings and information on upcoming cultural events, while the Macau Post can keep you up to speed with happenings in the territory.
