Pokhara is a city situated about 200 km west of Kathmandu. It is the third largest city of Nepal. 

 

Pokhara is also one of the main tourist places in Nepal since it is an important base for trekking and mountaineering in the country. Within 30 km in the area of Pokhara, the elevation rises from 1,000 m to over 7,500 m.  

 

Pokhara is the gateway to the Annapurna mountain range. Some 8000m mountains such as Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Manaslu as well as the sacred Machapuchhre (6693 m) can be seen from Pokhara.

 

Phewa Lake and David’s Falls are also tourist attractions in Pokhara. In the area, there are also two other lakes: Begnas and Rupa.

Pharping is a Nepalese village situated near the Dakshinkali Temple, 18 km away from Kathmandu.

Kirtipur is a town located in the Kathmandu valley, only 5 km. away from Kathmandu.
