The Jetavanaramaya Dagoba in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka.

The Jetavanaramaya Dagoba  is a stupa built by King Mahasena (273-301 AD) in Anuradhapura. With two Egyptian pyramids, it was one of the tallest monuments in the ancient world. The current structure is not as high as the original one, but with a volume of 233000 m² (2508000 sq ft), it is still the largest stupa in the world.

It was built on the premises of the abandoned Mahavihara which was destroyed during a conflict between Mahayana and Theravada monks. The Mahavihara was the center of Theravada Buddhism in Sri Lanka.
