The Malachite Butterfly is named for the mineral of the same color. It is a large butterfly with colored wings and a fast flight. 

The Malachite Butterfly is one of the most common butterfly species in Florida, Central America and northern South America. It is a beautiful butterfly.

Rufous-tailed Hummingbird  (Amazilia tzacatl)  in Costa Rica.

The Rufous-tailed Hummingbird is is a medium-sized hummingbird found mainly in Central America. It  is the most common and widespread hummingbird in the open areas of Costa Rica. It takes nectar from various flowers as well as small insects. Rufous-tailed Hummingbirds are territorial and may be very aggressive.
