Waiotapu is an active geothermal area located about 30 km south of Rotorua in the Taupo Volcanic Zone in the North Island of New Zealand. Waiotapu is an 18 km² large reserve. A part of this reserve, called "Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland", is open to visitors.
