It is bordered by Colorado to the east, Wyoming to the northeast, Idaho to the north, Arizona to the south, and Nevada to the west. Utah is home to several top ski and summer resorts (including Powder Mountain, Canyons, Park City, Snowbasin, Deer Valley, and 10 other resorts), 5 national parks (Arches, Bryce Canyon, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef, and Zion), 7 national monuments (Rainbow Bridge, Timpanogos Caves, Natural Bridges, Hovenweep, Cedar Breaks, Dinosaur, and Grand Staircase-Escalante), 2 national recreation areas (Glen canyon and  Flaming Gorge), 6 national forests, several scenic byways, the Golden Spike national Historic Site, as well as many other attractions.   More than 60% of Utahns are reported to be members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons). After several conflicts with neighboring communities in Missouri and Illinois, and the death of Joseph Smith (the founder of the Latter Day Saint movement) in 1844, LDS Church leaders believed that the remoteness of Utah would secure the rights of Mormons. They founded Salt Lake City in 1847. Mormons began then settling in what is now Utah. Salt Lake City is the capital and largest city of Utah. It hosted the 2002 Winter Olympics. Most of the ski resorts are just an hour’s drive from the airport. Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) is located 6.4 km (4 mi) west of Downtown. The airport is the fourth largest hub for Delta Airlines. Delta flies into Utah 250 times daily from 82 destinations in the USA, Canada, Mexico, and Europe (Paris and, as from May 2015, Amsterdam).
