Cayo Coco is an island of the Jardines del Rey archipelago located off the Atlantic coast of Cuba. It is connected to Cuba by a 27 km long dam. There is an international airport on the island. The Jardines del Rey (literally "Gardens of the King") were named in honor of King Ferdinand II of Aragon in 1513. They extends over 200 km and are part of the larger "Sabana-Camaguey" archipelago which is composed of more than 2500 islands and islets.

Cayo Coco is a popular tourist destination that is known for its beautiful beaches with turquoise waters, its diving spots, many all-inclusive resorts, and its swamps populated by wildlife (a.o. wild flamingos).

Cayo Guillermo is an island that is adjacent to Cayo Coco. Both islands are connected by a bridge. Cayo Guillermo is 13 km² large. It is a holiday destination that has three large white sandy beaches separated by reefs. The best known beach is Playa del Pilar, one of the most beautiful beaches in Cuba. It lies a few kilometers to the west of the resort. The beaches in Cayo Guillermo have shallow waters and are particularly wide at low tide.

Transfers between Cayo Guillermo and the international airport of Jardines del Rey take 45 minutes.

Playa Larga is a large beach situated in the Bay of Pigs on the western coast of Cuba. It is appreciated by scuba divers, ornithologists and other naturalists. Playa Larga lies at the edge of Zapata Swamp ("Cienaga de Zapata"), UNESCO biosphere reserve and the largest protected area in the Caribbean. Zapata Swamp is home among others to many species of endemic birds. Zapata Swamp Natural Reserve was designated as a "Wetland of International Importance" by the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands in 1971.

Playa Larga is famous also for being one of the two places where U.S.-backed Cuban exiles tried to invade Cuba on April 17, 1961.
